The start of something fantastic!

I did it! After working all week and dredging through lesson plans, curriculum meetings, grade level planning, and more papers to grade than candy I passed out on Halloween, I managed to post in my new blog!

Now, I know what you're thinking: Who is the Overly Enthusiastic Teacher? Well, my name is Jennifer Dragotta and I'm a 3rd grade teacher from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! Yes, I am an enthusiastic teacher. Not just a little enthusiastic either! I was told, 7 years ago during my student teaching that I needed to tone down my enthusiasm because I was just overly enthusiastic. Now, It's not like I was shouting in the classroom, jumping around, and twirling like a chicken with my head cut off, folks! I was just very excited about becoming a teacher. That enthusiasm has helped me get through 5 tough years of teaching and helping me with my 6th.

Yes, they do call me "the crazy teacher" but they also stay engaged and more willing to learn! My students are excited to come to school because I am too!

So, I'd like to welcome you on the wild ride that is teaching. I'll begin posting the awesome lessons I have on Teachers Pay Teachers and hopefully I can help you get more enthusiastic about teaching!
